Progress with the rewrite

Updates doth abound. I am well on my way to relaunching the Langorang web site. With nearly 6 months of experience under my belt, I believe that I have managed to diagnose several places that can be improved. Not the least of which is the look and feel.

In my SEO research, I ran across a book called Don’t Make Me Think. This book was also on the list my SEO Pro friend gave me. I was glancing at it in the book store and had to buy it. Needless to say, it jumped to the top of the reading list. It is a wonderfully short book about the common sense that isn’t so common when building web pages. Armed with the knowledge I am gleaning from the book, various websites and what I am learning about SEO in general, I really believe that I can make a dent into the search engine results that I have not been able to make before.

My wife is also pleased with how the site is coming along. She is super smart and very simple. There is not much that impresses her. I will not go so far as to say the new site design impresses her but it is something she is happy with. Which really helps when I am exhausted after a long run and I don’t want to do anything.

I have decided to gut the site and start from scratch. So, even though I like the thought of Agile Development, I didn’t know enough about it to make it work for me in the first run of Langorang. Hrm, I wonder if I should post a couple of pics of the different looks. It will be too funny to go back 6 months and see where the site has come to by the time I am finished with this version.

That is all I have for now. Thanks for the views and I appreciate your commnets. Input is always welcome.
