Not Search Engine Safe

All the unique content in the world and I still wouldn’t get indexed in the major search engines. Why do I say this? Because I have broken nearly every rule for SEO (search engine optimization) there is to break. I have been wondering why the traffic to the site has been stagnated and minimal at best. I was caught on a euphoric high of “growth” but most of my results were coming out of the blog posts. This was the first warning flag. Langorang has an abysmally low showing in Ask.com, Yahoo! and MSN.

Oh the humanity! Well, I have seen the error of my ways and now I am taking corrective steps to make things better. I am in the middle of another site redesign and this time I am building it with SEO in mind. I am also pulling the functionality for the community (in its current iteration) and going with a more simplified user login system for comments. I will also be taking better advantage of routing and styles. It is a pretty large chore to do a redesign. There are a lot of moving parts and I don’t want to break anything. I am setting up a cleaner interface as well. Just a hint, it is a good thing to learn a little something about design. I makes the eyes and cranium hurt less.

For those who like Langorang but not necessarily the way it looks, help is on the way. I already know that it will look better because my wife has given her blessing to the design (someone not consulted previously). This is a good sign and her input is much needed and appreciated.

Be watching, more changes are coming soon. Hopefully, I will be able to write positive changes this time based on solid research and not based on my personal opinion.
