Already the middle of February

It is almost the middle of the month and I haven’t posted much. Things are trucking along. Langorang has almost reached the 100 unique visitors for a 30 day period according to Google Analytics (another major milestone). I have completed a category utility and now I am working on the code to tie the stories to a category so that they can be searched in a variety of ways.

Langorang has also had its first month of grossing over a dollar. Again, I know that this does not sound like a lot but keep in mind that some sites generate no revenue at all. Anything at this point is a victory and moving in a positive direction.

I contacted a friend of mine from a previous job about some books to add to the reading stack. These books are related to growing a website and marketing. I am almost finished with Giving and Execution will not be far behind. I find it amazing that when I take the time to read, I am able to read so much in one setting. My reading skills have certainly improved. I guess it much like anything else. The more one does it the better one becomes.

I shudder to say this but I have decided to pick up a new language. I realize that it will take a lot of work. If I can give it an hour a day for a year or so then I will have good foundation to build on. I have the materials to learn Mandarin Chinese. Some of the materials include MITOpenCourseWare, Pimsleur and a couple of online pod casts for the training. The best time so far is when I am in my car and I can listen and speak with the Pimsleur audio. I was also considering Rosetta Stone but I am not sure I have the funds for it yet.

Now, please understand, I have been trying to learn various languages throughout my life. I am learning Spanish for survival because of where I live, but my heart is in Asia and Chinese is more common over there. So, in essence I am working on 2 languages. Craziness, I know.
